Sometimes the most beautiful wedding designs are the ones that feel like they’ve always existed in their space, as if Mother Nature herself had a hand in the planning. That’s exactly what Risa and Jonathan Evans created for their spring wedding celebration at San Antonio Botanical Garden, a garden wedding that felt effortlessly elegant while being thoughtfully designed down to every last detail.

The magic started long before the wedding day with a custom wedding invitation suite from The Girl General that was nothing short of paper perfection. Hand torn and handmade paper, blind embossing, letterpress ink, a magnolia printed liner and silk screened addressing set the tone for something truly special! The Girl General told us: “Hand torn and handmade paper really creates a tactile experience for your guests. When a suite like this arrives in the mail it really begins to weave a tale of intention and thoughtfulness for your guests.

When it came to bringing the couple’s garden wedding vision to life, Sweet August Events absolutely knocked it out of the park with seamless wedding planning. As Risa shared, her planner “tackled every hitch, like the unplanned rain, with grace and everything went incredibly smoothly.

The spring wedding design was all about creating that natural, straight-from-the-garden aesthetic with bright yellow florals by Bloom and Stem that looked like they’d been growing there forever. For the ceremony, the botanical garden’s greenery-covered arch was paired with large cement planters bursting with bright yellow blooms and woven baskets filled with greenery. For the reception tables, small terra cotta pots filled with garden-style flowers were paired with single stem vases & candles. The wedding seating chart was equally charming, tented name cards were arranged on a round table around a gorgeous floral spray.

Risa brought a nod to the garden theme into her bridal look, accessorizing her strapless floral embellished gown with the most gorgeous crystal butterfly earrings. Her bridesmaids complemented the springy palette beautifully in light champagne dresses. But can we talk about that second look? Risa switched into a fun feather-embellished mini dress that was perfect for dancing the night away!

One of the cutest wedding ideas from this wedding was the temporary tattoo station featuring designs inspired by the couple and their dog. Guests had so much fun getting creative with the custom wedding favors throughout the reception! Speaking of fun, guests had an absolute blast dancing to Cap City‘s live music. “Our favorite moment with our guests was all the time on the dance floor with our amazing band,” Risa shared.

She also added that “our first look is also one of our most cherished moments of just the two of us on our wedding day.” Scroll through all of Allison Jeffers Photography‘s beautiful shots below, but the first look photos might be our faves!
