Dionne shared, “We wanted to incorporate spirituality into our ceremony in a way that felt meaningful to both of us. The handwashing ceremony symbolized starting our life together anew, with forgiveness and love at the forefront.” Standing in front of their loved ones, they washed their hands as a gesture of leaving the past behind and committing to a fresh start as a married couple. The moment was intimate, spiritual, and profoundly moving.
Dionne and William’s day was brought to life by the talents of their family and friends, who helped create a very elegant DIY celebration. From the florals to the music, every element reflected the love and creativity of those closest to them. Dionne’s vision for the decor was elegant and timeless. “I wanted our wedding to feel like the glow of new love blossoming,” she said. Classic white florals, simple but beautiful decor, and the warmth of countless candles created an atmosphere that felt romantic and ethereal.
One of Dionne’s most cherished moments was the morning she spent in the bridal suite with her mother, sister, cousin, and niece. “We listened to a playlist of love songs I had been building since I was a teenager. For a moment, I felt like a little girl playing dress-up,” she shared.
